KURULUS OSMAN EPISODE 53 SUMMARY
The traitor within the Kai nomad has been identified. It is Dundar Bey, brother of Ertugrul Ghazi and Uncle to Osman Bey.
Umur Bey is in trouble. He has withheld the traitors ring from Osman for a very long time and so much has happened during this time. Umur Bey tells Osman that the ring was found on the day that Idris the Potter was murdered.
Osman is angered that Malhun Hatun and her father had lied to him. Holding back this vital piece of evidence has led to the deaths of Bayhoca and Abdurrahman Ghazi. Osman declares that their lies are not acts of friendship.
While Osman and Umur Bey are arguing, Dundar Bey enters the building and hears his betrayal has been found out. Dundar Bey places his hand to his throat and remembers the bow string that Osman wrapped around his neck and his promised warning that he will kill him if he ever betrayed him again. Osman searches the marketplace for Dundar Bey but he eludes him.
Osman returns to the Kai nomad without his Uncle. He sits with his brothers and Bamsi Bey and shows them the ring that they all recognise. His pride and the need to take revenge brings Osman to an infuriating anger. Bamsi Bey has never seen Osman like this.
The brothers decide to hold back their revenge until the traitorous Dundar Bey can be drawn out of his hiding place.
Meanwhile at Inegol Castle, Aya Nickola discusses a raid with Commander Kalonos on the town of Sogut. He tells him that they will enter Sogut from the secret tunnels under the town.
Dundar Bey who has nowhere else to go, presents himself to Aya Nickola. The incident has left him tired and pale. He is in a bad situation and hopes with the help of Petros that he can get his wife Hazal Hatun out of the Kai nomad.
Osman asks Bala Hatun to keep an eye on Hazal Hatun as she will eventually guide them to Dundar Bey.
Petros wants Hazal Hatun killed before she can tell Osman of their collaboration with Aya Nickola and Togay. Hazal Hatun finds out from Petros and Simon that her husband is at Inegol Castle and Osman is looking for him everywhere. Petros tells Hazal Hatun that she cannot go back to the nomad and he has made a way of escape for her.
Petros and Simon dig a grave for Hazal Hatun but she is saved from death by Osman and his Alps. They capture Petros and Simon though and they are taken back to the Kai nomad.
Osman gathers his tribe together and tells them that his own blood has betrayed them all and the traitor is none other than his own Uncle Dundar. He promises them that he will find him and he will be punished.
Osman tells Aygul not to feel upset about her father. Aygul warns Hazal Hatun that she has not forgotten she killed her mother and she will take her revenge when the time is right.
Petros and Simon are taken to the Kai prison tent and continually tortured until they tell Osman where Dundar Bey is hiding.
Osman is eaten up inside with hate and anger for what Dundar Bey has done to him. He sends Gunduz Bey to Aya Nickola as an ambassador. He tells Gunduz to do a deal with Aya Nickola in exchange for Dundar Bey but he will not give him property or lands.
Gunduz is received by Aya Nickola and he asks for his Uncle. Aya Nickola is offered 1,000 gold pieces in exchange for Dundar.
Gunduz tells Dundar Bey that he is a disgrace to his nation and he has the blood of his own people on his hands. Gunduz swears that there will be a day of feasting when Dundar dies.
Aya Nickola puts final touches to his plan to blow up Sogut. He is going to use Kalonos and his troops to ambush Osman as soon as he leaves the nomad to go to the aid of Sogut. At this time the nomad will be empty and Kalonos is told to take another troop of soldiers and destroy the nomad completely.
After not accepting a financial deal in exchange for Dundar Bey. Osman devises a plan of his own to get Dundar out of the castle and into his hands.
Osman goes to the prison tent alone and speaks with Petros and Simon. They have been tortured and tied up for days. They pray for Osman to kill them. He offers them a deal also. He tells Simon that he will keep Petros as a prisoner and he will go to Inegol Castle and meet with Dundar Bey secretly. He is to convince Dundar Bey to run away to Constantinople.
Petros and Simon’s reward for doing this is to be sent back to the Pope to deliver a letter from Osman. (Osman did not say whether Petros and Simon would delivered be dead or alive). They accept the deal.
Simon goes to Dundar Bey and tells him that Osman has exiled his wife Hazal Hatun to her brothers nomad. Simon tells Dundar that Osman has accepted Aya Nickola’s ransom so he has no choice but to leave with him for Constantinople or stay and be placed in Osman’s hands.
A disguised Dundar Bey leaves the castle supposedly to meet with Simon. He arrives at a camp site believing it to be that of Petros and Simon he is surprised to find it is Osman and his Alps and he is caught.
Osman finally has him. Dundar has a deeply scared look on his face. Osman tells him that he will be killed and he will not be able to have even a small piece of his ancestors land for his body to rot in as a grave.
