KURULUS OSMAN EPISODE 27 SUMMARY
Welcome to the last episode of Kurulus Osman for this season. Last week we saw the death of three of Osman’s enemies. Firstly, Subutay who had his head removed by Osman’s sword and then Cerkutay who ended his life at the end of Kongar/Goktug’s sword and lastly Balgay who ended his life as promised by Osman at the end of his sword. Osman took Balgay’s life on the spot when Sofia demanded Osman surrender to her.
We also saw Sofia introduce her new soldiers called the “Reapers”. Master Yannis the Sorcerer, created them after giving them a potion which prevents them dying from most wounds. A sword direct to the heart or decapitation is the only way they can die.
Meanwhile after surviving a Reaper attack, Bamsi Bey rides like the wind to fight at Osman’s side . Bamsi Bey knows that Osman may not survive fighting Sofia and her evil Reapers alone. He meets up with Boran Alp and Goktug and together they go to rescue Osman.
Bamsi Bey has the unpleasant task in telling Goktug that his brother Konur Alp is dead. Konur’s last request was for Goktug to be a brave soldier and to continue to protect Osman for him.
Sofia dispatches Cerkutay’s and Balgay’s bodies to Geyhatu in Konya whilst she remains to finish her life long goal of killing Osman.
Hazal Hatun talks Dundar Bey into sending Aygul to her brothers nomad for medical treatment. He agrees to send her away. When Hazal Hatun makes the arrangements for Aygul to travel she also arranges to have her killed on the way.
Osman finds himself surrounded by the Reapers. He realises that they will not die even when he strikes them savage blows that would normally be fatal. Osman can see that he is fighting evil demons.
It is not long before Osman works out that a thrust through the heart finishes off his enemy so that they do not rise up and fight again. Removing their heads completes their demise. Even though Osman fights off the Reapers he suffers a heavy wound to the chest. Eventually help arrives in the form of Bamsi Bey, Boran Alp and Goktug. Together they finish off the Reapers and Sofia’s armed guards. Bamsi Bey helps the wounded Osman to escape the deadly situation.
Sofia searches for Osman without success. She has never been so close to killing Osman but she has to give up and go back to Kuluchaiser Castle frustrated in not being able to find him.
Osman takes a turn for the worst and collapses.
Bamsi Bey and the Alps make their way back to the nomad as quickly as they can.
The village drums herald the arrival of Bamsi Bey with the heavily wounded Osman. The village goes into shock to see their beloved Osman in such a bad way hoping that Sofia has not delivered a fatal blow.
Selcan Hatun and Bala Hatun cauterise Osman’s wounds.
The village commences to grieve for a desperately ill Osman. Dundar Bey feels much guilt in the way he has treated Osman. All the same, Dundar Bey would gladly take the leadership of the Kais from Gunduz at any time.
Meanwhile at Kuluchaiser Castle, Sofia returns without her Reapers. She surrounds herself with her soldiers and dispatches a guard to find the infidel warrior Aya Nikola and requests he comes to her aid to get rid of Osman.
Gunduz breaks the news to the village that the great warrior Osman Bey is dead.
Sofia is also delivered the news of Osman’s death. She is overjoyed and proclaims a day of feasting at the castle to celebrate.
Deep within the forest Aygul who is being escorted to Hazal Hatun’s nomad makes an escape into the woods before she could be executed along the way.
As Sofia celebrates within the castle walls, a garrison of infidel cavalrymen make their way through the castle gates. This is the contingent of soldiers requested by Sofia and led by Aya Nikola. Sofia prepares to welcome her guests. The gates open and the soldiers make their entrance.
Sofia is much surprised to see a tall dark figure emerge from the cavalry group in a dark cloak. When the cloak is whipped away she recognises a resurrected Osman along with all his men dressed in disguise.
The figure of Aya Nikola is presented to her wrapped in a carpet and rolled out dead at her feet.
Sofia realises she has been tricked into a false sense of security when she thought that Osman was dead. They were feasting within the castle walls but now he and his men were inside her castle and have taken them all by surprise.
Osmans plans had turned out just as he wanted, with everyone believing he was dead it was the perfect time for him to attack. He has come to make true his promise to Sofia and to free his people from her tyranny.
A fierce battle ensues within the castle walls. Osman has no mercy for his enemies. He fights to the death but keeps his eyes out for an opportunity to finish Sofia off.
He follows her to the ramparts where she finally meets him face to face. She is quite the warrior and wields a sword as good as any man. She faces Osman and he promises her that he will bury her within the caste grounds.
Osman finally corners Sofia high upon the ramparts. He tells her that it is time for this land to belong to the muslims and the time has come for her to pay for the evil that she has brought to the people.
As Osman stares straight into her eyes he thrusts his sword into her stomach not taking his eyes off hers as he watches with pleasure the look of pain on her face.
Osman eventually withdraws his sword from deep within her body. He raises his hand and strikes her hard across the face knocking her off the rampart walls and down into the castle quadrangle. She lies on the ground as if dead. She is found by Helen and carried outside the castle walls. At this stage we do not know the outcome.
The battle for the castle continues for hours with many losing their lives. Osman and his men do not stop until every last castle soldier is defeated. It has been a bloody day but one of great glory.
Finally, Osman and his men stand having achieved a victory , They claim Kuluchaiser Castle for the Kais. Osman gives praise to God for his holy conquest.
Bahadir brings the grieving Dundar Bey the news that Osman is not only alive but has conquered Kuluchaiser Castle for the Turkish people. Dundar Bey is most saddened that he was never let in on the secret at the beginning and that Osman was alive. It was obvious that he was not trusted to keep their secret.
Aygul after escaping an attempt on her life by Hazal Hatun, makes her way back to the Kai Village to take her revenge. She tries to kill Hazal Hatun but her arrow misses her mark and finds the heart of Burcin.
Meanwhile at the castle, Osman greets his wife and Sheik Edebali who brings with him the Kai flag which has been sanctified in prayer in readiness for Osman’s victory.
Sheik Edebali gives Osman the honour of raising the Kai flag on behalf of all turks. Osman accepts the honour gladly.
As the flag flies high on the castle walls a prayer is offered to Allah in praise for the victory and to glorify His name.
