KURULUS OSMAN EPISODE 25 SUMMARY
At the conclusion of Episode 24 last week, Zohre Hatun’s life was terminated by Hazal Hatun.
Zohre Hatun had poisoned the goat meat that was to be served at Osman’s wedding feast. The poison was a wedding gift from Sofia. The poison was delivered by Alexis, a Margaret Church monk . Zohre accepted the poison willingly in her last attempt at gaining the Kais leadership for her husband. Unfortunately for Zohre, Hazal Hatun knew what she was up to and cuts her throat for her trouble.
Unfortunately for Sofia her murderous attempt failed. She so dearly wanted revenge for the execution of her father Master Yannis in Constantinople.
We also saw last week Kongar being caught and tortured by Balgay. He is then drugged and mentally conditioned into a killing machine.
In the Kais village Osman interrogates Hazal Hatun. He wants to know where the poison came from. Hazal Hatun tells him that her guard had seen the monk give the poison to Zohra Hatun.
Osman can see that the poison was a sophisticated potion. He already suspects Sofia as the culprit . He has Alexis the monk followed and awaits information from his Alps if his suspicions are correct and Sofia was involved.
It is not long before Konur Alp and Boran Alp’s surveillance see Alexis the monk and Sukutay the mongol ride into the castle gates. On his departure Konur Alp and Boran capture Alexis and he spills the beans that it was Sofia who gave him the poison. They use his own dagger to slit his throat.
Inside the castle walls, Sofia and Sukutay discuss their plan of attack on Osman. They decide that they will wipe out the Kai village. To do this they firstly need to lure Osman out of the village. They decide to use his anger as motivation. They plan to make Osman angry enough that he will take his Alps and leave the Kai village. To do this Sofia will use Salvador as bait.
Sofia has known for some time that Salvador was a traitor and spy for Osman. She takes Salvador’s dagger and places it at his throat. She proceeds to use her dagger as torture.
After torturing Salvador, Sofia poisons him and then sends him back to Osman as her wedding gift.
Konur Alp and Boran bring Osman the proof that Alexis was working for Sofia and also the new alliance with Sukutay. Osman believes that Sukutay normally would report straight back to Geyhatu but because he didn’t Osman believes the alliance with Sofia means they will have a plan in mind.
Sofia, Sukutay and Balgay meet. Balgay agrees to join them both in attacking and killing Osman.
Balgay now has a new weapon against Osman. A tortured and senseless Kongar who has his soul penetrated by the evil spirit of Erlik Han.
They wake Kongar up from his drugged stupor and tell him that Osman has stolen his soul. Balgay gives Kongar his orders. Kill Osman!
Meanwhile at the Kai village pounding drums herald the arrival of a lone rider to the village. It is Salvador. He is barely alive slumped over his horse. In his last breath Salvador tells Bamsi Bey that he has been killed by Sofia in revenge for her father’s execution.
Salvador dies in Bamsi Bey’s arms.
Osman and Bamsi Bey swears to avenge Salvador’s murder. Bamsi Bey buries him beside his son Batur and covers him with the Kai flag. Sofia’s goal of making Osman angry enough to leave the Kai village has been successful. Osman is outraged in losing Salvador.
Aygul wanders away from the tribe and has hallucinations of seeing her dead brother. She follows his ghost through the forest and ends up at his grave site.
Kongar finds his way to Osman’s camp. He is greeted by his brother Konur Alp. He is noticeably beaten. He brings the news that Sofia, Balgay and Subutay have joined forces and plan to attack Osman at his nomad.
Osman prepares for battle. He sends Gunduz and Abdurrahman Ghazi to warn the Kais nomad of an impending attack, while he and his alps venture out to find Balgay. He allows Bahadir to join them as an act of brotherhood.
Osman is aware that Kongar looks ill and certainly not himself.
Kongar leads Osman and his brother into a trap set by Balgay. Before Balgay attacks he offers Osman spirit up to Erlik Han as a blood sacrifice to him.
Kongar tries to assassinate Osman but he is not successful. Kongar’s brother Konur alp steps in to defend Osman but in his attempt receives a dagger thrust deep into his body.
As Konur lies helpless on the ground Osman is left by himself to defend himself against Kongar. Osman defeats Kongar but does not kill him due to his love for his brother Konur.
After battling with Cerkutay and his Nokers, Bamsi Bey and Boran Alp mount their horses to go to the aid of Osman and Konur Alp.
Balgay faces Osman in a one-on-one battle. It is a fight to the death but Balgay makes his escape when Bamsi and Boran arrive. Osman gives chase and manages to wound Cerkutay but they are able to get away.
Konur is in a bad way. Kongar is unable to stop his maniacal will to try and kill Osman. Osman knows now that he is filled with soul destroying drugs. His outcome is uncertain as is Konur’s life.
Osman immobilises Kongar and prepared to cauterise his brothers wound. He promises Konur that he will not give Kongar back to Balgay but rather keep him and make him one of his alps. In Kongar’s present state this may take a long time.
Balgay and Cerkutay live to fight another day. Balgay believes he is almighty and never will be defeated.
Meanwhile, Subutay and Sofia assemble their soldiers and surround the Kai village. Sofia gives the order not to leave one Turk alive.
Osman had previously warned his nomad of an impending attack. He left Gunduz and Abdurrahman Ghazi there for protection. From out of the surrounding fields mongols and infidels sneak through the vegetation and eventually charge the Kai gates.
They find the village surprisingly quiet and devoid of normal activity. They begin to feel uncomfortable and realise they have fallen into a Turkish trap. Archers rain arrows down upon them. Alps attack from within the nomads and within from hidden advantage points throughout the village. Mongol and infidels alike die at the hands of their savage enemy.
Sukutay and Sofia find themselves cornered inside the village and surrounded by Turkish villagers. There is no escape for them.
In speaking with Kongar in his drug induced state back in the forest, Kongar had warned Osman that Subutay was going to attack his nomad. This prior warning enabled Osman to gain strength and ride like the wind with his Alps to get back to his nomad in time before Subutay and Sofia attacked.
Osman now appears on the steps outside his fathers nomad. He stands facing his enemy. He can see that his battle has been victorious.
Hidden in the woods but within view of the battle from a distance, Balgay and Cerkutay sit and watch as blood starts to be shed from within the Kai village.
Balgay reminds Cerkutay that he will not give up until he sheds Osman’s blood and takes back his son Kongar from him. Balgay swears he will skin Osman alive.
