ERDAL YILDIZ BIOGRAPHY
Born: January 1st 1966
Erdal was born in the Kurdish area, Tunceli in Turkey. He lived in a small village with his parents. His Dad was a prison officer and his Mum a housewife. He is one of seven siblings. He grew up there until the age of six and then the family emigrated to Germany. Erdal says it was hard leaving Tunceli but the German people made them feel welcome. He didn’t go to school and could only speak Zazaki. He learned Turkish while in Germany.
He attended The Lee Strasberg Theatre in New York from 1991 until 1993. His first movie was in 1999 he appeared in Lola and Bilidkid. Most of his early work was in Germany. At the same time as filming his first movie unusually, he was offered a role in another, Aprilkinder. They were filmed and then released at the same time.
Erdal’s acting career lasted 16 years in Germany. He always tended to get the bad macho type roles. He has said that he doesn’t mind this. He says that women like the bearded bad macho guy. His most recent work was in the American series Jack Ryan, again he played the bad guy. He jas a scar on his face that is natural. Caused by a run in with a table at his sister’s house.
Erdal is quite a character. He was asked about a naked photoshoot that he did. He says he ” took his clothes off in front of the camera and not behind, what’s wrong with that? ” He was approached by a great German photographer and agreed to do it. He likes the actor Kivanc Tatlitug in the series Kuzy Guney, and also liked Meryem Uzerli and Halit Ergenc in Magnificent Century.
His new role will be in a police drama. The series named Halka will be on screen in 2019. This is a Turkish production and he will again play the bad guy which he does so well. He will be acting alongside Ahmet Mumtaz Taylan, Serkan Cayoglu, Hande Ercel and Kaan Yildirim.
He has got an Instagram account with over 3k followers. His images attest to the fact that he plays the bad guy well. He is 53 years old and is in amazing shape and looks after himself. I have only seen Erdal in the Jack Ryan series so far, so I will look forward to seeing him play a more active role in Halka.
