Netflix is the world’s leading internet entertainment service which has recently announced on its social media account that its second original Turkish series is on the way. The series will star with the elegant actress Beren Saat. Netflix first original series “The Protector” featuring Cagatay Ulusoy has been huge success worldwide. “The Protector” was announced in March 2018. Starring Çağatay Ulusoy, the 10-episode super hero fantasy also stars Okan Yalabık, Ayça Ayşin Turan, Hazar Ergüçlü and Mehmet Kurtuluş. After the success of its first 10 episodes the second season was released shortly after, the audience is expecting the 3rd season very soon. The series follows the epic adventure of Hakan, a young shopkeeper whose modern world gets turned upside down when he learns he is connected to a secret, ancient order, tasked with protecting Istanbul.
The title for the new series is suspected to be “The Gift”, cast and date of the new series has not been announced yet officially but shooting has started in Istanbul by a British producer called Alex Sutherland and OG Medya is the production company, who we know have recently finished its incredible series Istanbullu Gelin.
Born in 1984, Beren Saat is one of the most popular Turkish celebrities. She gained fame with her role in “Aşk-ı Memnu” (Forbidden Love) as Bihter Ziyagil. “Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne?” (What is Fatmagül’s Fault?) and the drama series “İntikam,” a spin-off from the American television series “Revenge,” were among her other important and most successful projects.
She also played a title role in the Turkish drama “Muhteşem Yüzyıl Kösem” as Kösem Sultan, who earned a reputation for being the most dangerous and devious of the mother sultans in the Ottoman Empire.
Beren Saat has recently not been featured in any series, so looking forward to see her in action once again. Beren Saat who is among the country’s highest-paid talents, will play a young Istanbul artist named Atiye, whose life changes when she encounters an archaeologist. A discovery is made at the site of an ancient temple, called Gobeklitepe, where secrets of her past are hidden, according to promotional materials.
Netflix is establishing a bigger footprint in Turkey just as the local TV industry is being battered by the country’s protracted currency crisis, though it remains among the world’s top global exporters of TV dramas. Further details of the series, cast, and release date will be announced soon.
